Effectiveness and efficiency… To do this, you need to understand the purpose the Lab and the tasks that will be undertaken. Search for info on “Task Analysis” – this is a technique used to understand how people interact with the equipment and the working environment around them to complete tasks.
Safety – depends on the applicable regulatory requirements… Which depends on what country you are in and what materials you are handling. In the UK for example, you’d find all the info you needed on the Health & Safety Executives website.
Security – again, like safety, depends on what country you are in and what materials you are handling.
